The Hardship and Lundgren funds make awards to students who are experiencing financial hardship as a result of unexpected changes in their financial circumstances. In assessing applications the Student Registry relies greatly on the student's application, supervisors comments and the Tutors recommendations.
If a student is experiencing financial hardship then the first port of call should be the college Graduate Tutor. The Graduate Tutor may consider the student to be eligible for the hardship funds and that the student should complete the online hardship form.
The Student Registry is responsible for the administration of two separate award schemes and eligible Graduate Students will be considered under only one of the schemes.
Tutors are responsible for advising the student on which fund to apply for, and should provide information about any College assistance given to the student.
It is the aim of the funds to help support students to complete a course, but not necessarily the one they came to study. Therefore, students experiencing funding collapse early in their studies might be better advised to intermit until they can put a funding package back in place.
