This programme equips you with specialised legal knowledge and skills in international, European and national environmental law, policy and ethics. You also gain a greater understanding of the nature of law and regulation, and research, organisational and presentation skills.
You take a compulsory module in the foundations of environmental law and policy (30 credits), three optional modules (90 credits) and, at the end of the summer semester, submit a dissertation (60 credits). Optional modules include: planning law and environmental impact assessment; environmental law and environmental rights; international environmental law; European environmental law; the law of the WTO and GATT; law of international commerce; international financial regulation; international intellectual property law; corporate governance and corporate finance; foundations of public international law; human rights and development. You are assessed by course work essays and written examinations, plus your dissertation. Most modules are taught by means of seminar groups.
